Retail/Restaurant Processing

Credit card processors classify merchant accounts by the way in which a merchant makes a credit card transaction. A retail merchant account is an account that is set-up under the assumption that the merchant is going to physically swipe at least 70% of their total credit card transactions through a credit card terminal. If you do not think you will be able to qualify as a retail/restaurant merchant you should look at either a mail order merchant account, or a phone order merchant account. If you're not sure which type of account best fits your business please ask your BNG agent or contact us.

Restaurant Merchant Account

What is the difference between restaurant and retail accounts?

Restaurant accounts are very similar to retail however they can make tip adjustments, and have different server numbers as well as other options programmed into their point of sale terminal. Ask your agent about the different options available for restaurants.
